I'm so excited to share this information with you! A couple of days ago, as I was waiting for the light to change while leaving Euan's school, I happened to look over at the marquee. I had to do a double-take because my name was on it!!!! I then read that I had been award the Dividend of the Month! I've never had my name on a marquee before and I have to tell you, it's pretty exciting!!! I, of course, called my mother and told her and she wanted to know when the big party was going to be. I told her that I needed to book the caterer and band first and then I would know a date - hee hee hee!!!!

Fun Stuff!!!
OK, so I know a few of my friends that will appreciate this post because it involves TRIVIA!!! Scott, the boys and I headed over to Beef O'Brady's in Winter Springs last night for dinner after tball practice. While we were there, we noticed some signs on the tables that said that they are now doing Trivia Night on Wednesdays. We were all excited about that when we learned that they were going to be starting the trivia game in the next few minutes! So, we got an answer sheet and came up with our team name - Scott's Zany Brood (I thought it was cute!). We played along and answered all of the questions, most of them very confidently. They really weren't that tough, they just made you head back in time and think. For example, one of the questions was, "What book involves a young, friendly fish that shares his colorful scales with friends that he meets?" Having children, this question wasn't very hard, but it had been a while since I had read the book. I finally came up with the answer, though! It was The Rainbow Fish. Another question was, "What three parts of speech can an adverb describe?" GEE WHIZ!!!! I got two of them, but it was a trick question because one of the answers was another adverb!!! I didn't get that one. Well, we must have done pretty well, though, because we ended up winning!!!!!!!!!! We were so excited!!!!! BUT, when they called the name of our team, the girl said it was Scott's Zany BroAd, not BROOD!!! I was a little embarassed, so I sent Euan up to claim our prize which ended up being a gift certificate to that restaurant that we ended up being able to use that night!!! We had such a good time and the boys enjoyed helping to answer the questions! I think that we'll be back next week for another fun trivia game. I wonder if we'll win again?!!!!!

A Little Bragging!
OK, I know we all can't stand those people that brag about their children, but I'm going to do it anyway!!! This is my blog and it's my right :) Anyway, I just thought I needed to recognize my older son for his accomplishment. Euan's kindergarten teacher told me a few weeks ago that she had talked to the Gifted teacher about Euan and asked that if she had any extra time she had a little boy that she would like to send her way. Well, the Gifted teacher did happen to have some extra time and Euan now goes to see her one day a week for about an hour. Euan's teacher advised the Gifted Teacher that he is very good in math and enjoys it so much so when he goes to see her, they work on extra math skills. Kindergarteners usually are not eligible for the Gifted program so Scott and I were both VERY excited that Euan was going to get to join!!! I am so proud of his math abilities, but I do have to say, it definitely is not something that he got from me - that's all Scott!!!!!!
Ashton's Big Award!
As we all know, Ashton is a very physical boy. His gross motor skills are out of this world and his athletic ability is extraordinary!!! He has been taking a "gym" class for the last few months and he loves it! It is actually a gymnastics class, but he HATES gymnastics because of a bad experience he had at Ace Gymnastics over the summer, so we call what he goes to now just gym. Anyway, he really loves the class and is so good at it! He had a show at the end of the session and here are some pictures of it. Scott and I were amazed at his abilities as were his teachers. He was so proud of himself and of the award that he received. I know that in 15ish years, I will be interviewed by a big news program and asked if Ashton has always been a strong acrobat and I will have to say yes, that we remember when he was just a little guy and spent more time on his head perfecting his hand stands, head stands, donkey kicks, cartwheels, summersaults, one-handed pushups and more!!! I can see it now!!!! :)
Apologies are in order...
I just have to start by saying that I am sorry I have been soooo delayed in my latest blog! We have just had a very difficult few weeks and I have been so busy that I haven't had time to blog. But, I'm back at it and wanted to share some of Euan and Ashton's latest happenings so check them out!
First, Euan and Ashton have been having fun since December playing football for the YMCA. As you all know, they have spent many seasons playing tball, but they decided that they wanted a change so I signed them up for football. Euan has been begging to play football for a long time now and had said that he wanted to be the kicker, which is fine by me since that means that he isn't in the game much which also decreases his chances of an injury or a bad tackle :) Euan was able to get on a team with three of his friends that he was in preschool with so he absolutely loved that. The YMCA had even started a 3-4 year old league, so little Ashton was also able to play. He was definitely the all-star of his team! He ran for so many touchdowns and loved grabbing the flags off of his opponents. Their season just ended this past Saturday and they were able to get their new trophies. They had a very fun season and are definitely interested in more football! Here are some pictures of them playing in their games and practice!
